DOHA: On Wednesday, H E Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), inaugurated the art exhibition ‘Colored Threads of Time’ by Austrian artist Amray C. Baruch, at Building 47 – Hall 2 in Katara.

The exhibition, organised in cooperation between Katara and the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Doha, runs until October 30, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and Qatar.

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies, ambassadors, diplomats, and representatives of cultural and artistic institutions, in addition to a distinguished group of artists and individuals interested in cultural affairs in Qatar.

This exhibition is the second cultural event organised by the Austrian Embassy in cooperation with Qatari partners within one month — a reflection of the depth of the growing cultural relations between the two friendly countries.

In her speech at the opening, H E Erika Bernhard, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Qatar, expressed her gratitude for the fruitful cooperation with Qatari cultural institutions, saying:

“We are pleased to present this exhibition once again in partnership with the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), on a special occasion marking the fiftieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between Austria and Qatar.”

Ambassador Bernhard praised the works of Amray C. Baruch, describing them as a poetic exploration of identity, memory, and human connection — creating a visual dialogue between past and present that expresses both personal experience and shared human emotions. She explained that the artist’s works go beyond visual beauty, offering an invitation to contemplation and enriching spaces with meaning and warmth.

She added: “Within the folds of this exhibition, the message of art is clear — to build bridges of communication between cultures and peoples. I hope this experience will remain alive in our memories as a testament to the strong human friendship between our two countries.”
