Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani with Secretary of the Department of Labour and Employment in the Philippines, Silvestre Bello, in Doha yeasterday.
Secretary of the Department of Labour and Employment in the Republic of Philippines Silvestre Bello lauded the efforts of Qatar to strengthen and ensure the rights of the labourers through the applied laws and procedures.
Bello yesterday held a meeting with H E Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA), Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, during which they discussed bilateral relations between both countries in fields of common interest, as well as ways to strengthen and develop them.
Al Nuaimi presented the legislations and procedures done by Qatar to ensure the rights of expatriate labours are protected. During the meeting Bello praised the achievements of Qatar regarding the care of expatriate labours by building high quality labour camps and creating labour dispute resolution committees to facilitate litigation for labours in need of care.
He valued the great efforts exerted by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs to generally protect expatriate labors through the respective departments.
