Doha, Qatar: The Qatar flag was raised at a ceremony at the Athletes’ Village in Nagoya, Japan, yesterday, with members of the Qatar delegation attending, ahead of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
Qatar will be represented by 243 athletes, including 184 men and 59 women, at the 20th edition of the Asian Games, which will be held from September 19 to October 4 across Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya.

The Qatari contingent will look to build on its performance at the previous edition in Hangzhou, where Qatar won 14 medals, including five gold, six silver and three bronze. More than 17,000 athletes and officials are expected to take part in 43 sports at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.
While some events have already begun, the opening ceremony is scheduled for September 19, with the Games set to conclude on October 4.
