Doha: The Ministry of Labour (MoL), represented by the Occupational Safety and Health Department, has concluded its 2026 awareness and inspection campaign on the risks of heat stress.

The three-month campaign ran from June 1 to September 15, 2026, as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance occupational safety and health standards and protect workers from risks associated with working in hot weather, in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Ministry’s strategic objectives of providing a safe and sustainable working environment.

Throughout the campaign, the Ministry of Labour intensified its awareness-raising and inspection efforts, targeting workers, employers and various relevant groups at workplaces, in partnership with a number of government and private-sector entities and strategic partners, foremost among them the Ministry of Public Health and the Workers’ Support and Insurance Fund, alongside private-sector institutions and companies. This cooperation contributed to delivering awareness messages to a broad segment of beneficiaries and enhancing compliance with preventive measures aimed at reducing the risks of heat stress.

The campaign featured an integrated programme of awareness and inspection activities, including seminars, workshops and educational lectures, alongside intensified field inspection visits to monitor compliance with occupational safety and health requirements and the preventive measures in place during the summer period.

Coinciding with the campaign’s concluding activities, the Ministry of Labour, represented by the Occupational Safety and Health Department, organised a series of awareness seminars on the risks of heat stress in cooperation with Al Fardan Hotels and Resorts and Al Tayseer Security Services, with the participation of the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa).

Through these awareness initiatives, the Ministry of Labour reaffirms its commitment to continuing to strengthen the occupational safety and health system across workplaces, supporting the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 to build a society in which its members enjoy health and safety. The seminars featured awareness and guidance lectures addressing the health risks arising from direct exposure to high temperatures, ways of preventing such risks, and the measures that should be followed to ensure workers’ safety when working in hot weather.

At the conclusion of the campaign, the Ministry of Labour expressed its appreciation for the level of cooperation demonstrated by public- and private-sector institutions, strategic partners, employers and workers in supporting awareness-raising efforts and compliance with approved requirements. The Ministry affirmed that the positive results achieved reflect growing awareness of the importance of occupational safety and health and reinforce a culture of Prevention in the workplace.
