Bazm e Urdu Qatar (BUQ) organised its annual Hamdiya Mushaira at Allama Ibne Hajar Library in Fariq Bin Omran area recently. BUQ Chairman Amjad Ali Sarwar and Patron in Chief Sabhee Bukhari were present.
Ibrahim Khan Kamal Founder of Anjuman e Mohiban e Urdu Hind, presided over the function.
Rana Mohammad Ayub was the chief guest and host of the function. Moulana Abdul Ghaffar attended the function as the Guest of honour.
The initial comparing was conducted by BUQ General Secretary Ahmad Ashfaq. BUQ President Syed Faheeuddin welcomed the Guests and Shaukat Ali Naz, noted Urdu poet and Advisor of BUQ, conducted the Mushaira session that featured recitation of the poetry. The poem received through email from US-based poet Tanveer Phool was recited by Asadullah. The local poets who presented their Urdu poetry included Abdul Qadeer Shakir, Raquim Azmi, Mubarak Hussain Hazfiz, Tahir Jamil, Athar Zia, Mansoor Azmi, Syed Faheemuddin, Ahmad Ashfaq, Nadeem Mahir, Aziz Nabeel, Shaukat Ali Naz and Shafeeq Akhtar.
Vice Patron in Chief Habib un Nabi distributed the Gift of books sponsored by Syed Faheemuddin to the President of Mushaira, Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Compare of Mushaira. BUQ Vice-President Mansoor Azmi proposed vote of thanks. Prominent among those who attended the Mushiara were Dr Tauseef Hashmi, President Anjuman e Urdu Hind Khalid Dad khan, Misbah Ahmed, Javed Akhtar, Mohammad ImranKhan, Khan Razaullah, gohar Altaf, Qaisar Anwar, moulana Waseem AnsarYawar and Mohammad javed Iqbal. The Musharia ended with dinner hosted by Rana Mohammad Ayub.
