The Emir received a cable of greetings from Advisory Council Speaker Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi. The speaker conveyed on his and council members’ behalf Eid greetings and blessings, asking the Almighty Allah for the best of health and happiness to the Emir and further progress, welfare and prosperity to the loyal people of Qatar under the Emir’s leadership.
The Emir sent a reply cable, thanking Al Khulaifi and council members, asking the Almighty Allah for the happy return of such an occasion to them.

Doha: Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) Chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani met Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Dr Adel bin Zaid Al Toraifi at Doha Sheraton Hotel yesterday.
They discussed ties between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in the media field. QMC’s Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Hamad Al Thani was present. Al Toraifi arrived in Doha on a fraternal short visit.

Doha: Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has announced that Eid Al Fitr holidays for banks operating in the state begin on Sunday and banks will reopen on Wednesday.
Ramadan: 615 convert to Islam
Doha: Qatar Guest Centre, Sheikh Eid Charity Association, has announced that 615 people converted to Islam during Ramadan. The majority of the new Muslims are from the Philippines — 517 men and women. The the converts include 26 Indians, 32 Sri Lankans, 15 Nepalese and 25 from the UK. There were 144 women and 417 men among them. QNA
