DOHA: The Prime Minister and Interior Minister HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani today visited several health centers of Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and ordered the authorities concerned to have all the ongoing healthcare related projects completed as soon as possible.
The premier visited Al Shamal health center and had a firsthand look at health facilities inside the center such as clinics, administrative offices, labs, scans and the pharmacy. Al Shamal health center is one of the oldest in Qatar having been established in 1972 and has 7,000 registered people. Between 70 and 100 patients visit the center everyday.
He also visited Al Kaaban health center and listened to a detailed brief on expansion plans in new centers, which include a 24-hour emergency building for the elderly to receive urgent cases. The Prime Minister was also briefed on the center's facilities, including public clinics, dentistry clinics, non-communicable disease clinics, labs and scan centers as well as medical commission and the pharmacy, reports QNA.
A presentation was also held for the premier on future plans that aim to develop the center, including the improvement of the building's interior design and expanding health services in the center.
After that, he visited the new building of the Al Ghuwariyah health center and toured the facilities and services that will be available when the center starts to operate. He listened to the operation plan, which will feature a new electronic system as well as procedures of local community participation in specifying the working hours of the center through a survey that was carried out by PHCC.
