DOHA: A 29-year-old expatriate camel farm worker infected with Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) has fully recovered, the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) said in a statement yesterday.
“His condition is stable and blood tests have shown that he has fully recovered,” SCH said, adding he was removed from isolation and discharged from hospital. On May, the patient reported at a primary health centre with symptoms of fever and cough, later tested positive for the virus and transferred to Hamad General Hospital.
SCH said no new cases of MERS have been reported in the country. However, preventive measures are in place and all health facilities have been asked to report any suspected case to the departments concerned.
