The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ will close Fuwairit Interchange on Al Shamal Road, including the entrances and exits of the interchange. The closure, which is done in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic, lasts for two months starting from Friday 19 May 2017.
This temporary closure aims to develop entrances and exits of the interchange and connecting them to the new built service roads located to the west and east of Fuwairit Interchange. During this period, road users heading from Doha to Ain Snan west of the interchange, will need to use the service road starting at Lejthaya Interchange, as shown in the attached map.
For those heading from Doha to Fuwairit, they need to use the service road starting at Lejthaya then use the temporary road heading to Fuwairit.
For drivers coming from the north towards Ain Snan or Fuwairit, thy need to continue straight to Lejthaya Interchange then use the service roads on the west and east of Al Shamal Road to reach their destinations.
Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow newly implemented traffic road signs to ensure their safety.
