Doha: Foreign Minister H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah yesterday received a phone call from British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond.
They reviewed regional and international developments, including the outcomes of the recent US- GCC Camp David Summit.
Dr Al Attiyah congratulated Hammond on remaining the Head of British Diplomacy in the new Cabinet following his party’s victory in the 2015 general elections.
Doha: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce yesterday announced the recall of Mercedes-Benz C-Class model 2014 due to manufacturing defects in the steering column.
The ministry said the decision, in cooperation with Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles (NBK Auto), was part of its constant coordination and follow-up to ascertain the commitment of car dealerships to repair vehicle defects and protect consumer rights.
The Ministry said there will be coordination with the company’s agent to follow up on maintenance, repairs and communication with customers to ensure implementation of procedures with regard to defective cars.
It urged consumers to report any irregularities to the Consumer Protection Department, which receives complaints, suggestions and inquiries through its channels of communication.
Doha: The Environment Protection Department at the Ministry of Environment has detected more than 10 violations.
It caught a group of winter camp owners who burned wastes in non-assigned areas. A concrete mixer was seized while unloading on land. Patrols also caught a truck driver throwing waste in a non-assigned area in Al Kheesa. The patrols handed violation cases to offenders and referred them to security agencies. QNA
