The General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti opened the 7th Heaven Arts Centre yesterday.
The centre is an educational institute that focuses on creativity and talent development for children and youth in various fields of the visual arts including painting, photography, design, graphics, ceramics and printing.
It offers training programmes customised for different age groups where they will learn creative techniques.
International ambassador for Social Responsibility and Chairman of Friends of the Environment program, Dr Saif Al Hajri, 7th heaven Arts centre chairman and Qatari artist Amal Al Aathem, representatives of diplomatic missions, art enthusiasts and media attended the opening.
Following the opening was a tour around the centre’s halls, fine-art workshops, and informative visual-art programmes that cover a wide array of sectors in the fields of art, including sculpture and plastic arts.
In his speech, Al Sulaiti welcomed the cooperation between Katara and the 7th Heaven Arts Centre. He expressed his gratitude and deep appreciation to everyone that worked hand in hand for this cultural project, hoping that the centre will enhance the value of arts through the wide array of activities and various programs it will provide for art enthusiasts in Doha. Al Aathem expressed her utmost gratitude and happiness with the strong support and attention provided by Katara, which she described as a hub to arts and artists Qatar.
Furthermore, she pointed out that cooperation between Katara and the Centre will be implemented in the fields of workshops as some will be conducted at Katara Art Studios.
In addition, fine art exhibitions will be organised for the Centre artists at the galleries in Katara.
