DOHA: The Director General of the Police College, Brigadier Mohamed Abdullah Al Muhana Al Marri, met a UN delegation that included Dr Mona Rishmawi, head of the Rule of Law, Equality and Non-Discrimination Branch in the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, and Dr Obaid Ahmed Obaid, United Nations Centre Director for training and documentation of human rights in southwest Asia and the Arab region.
The Director of the Interior Ministry’s Human Rights Department, Brigadier Abdullah Saqr Al Mohannadi, along with a number of academics at the Police College, attended the meeting, which dealt with partnership between the relevant UN organisations and the Police College and the Human Rights Department. They discussed prospects for cooperation in training in the application of human rights concepts.
Presentations on the Police College and the strategy and achievements of the Human Rights Department were made for the delegation.
