Doha: Qatar Calendar has announced its preparations to welcome the holy month of Ramadan 2026, unveiling a nationwide programme of events and activities spanning heritage, culture, sports and family entertainment.

Qatar Calendar, presented by Visit Qatar, is the national unified platform showcasing the country’s major events and activities throughout the year, including sports, cultural, entertainment, conferences, and exhibitions, reinforcing Qatar’s position as a vibrant and dynamic global destination.

Among the season’s signature attractions is Ramadaniyat at Heenat Salma, a nature-inspired experience integrating spirituality, creativity, and outdoor living. The programme features farm-based workshops, artisan installations, live performances, Ramadan discussions, Quran recitations, and wellness sessions, creating an immersive setting under open skies. Complementing the activities are a Ramadan bazaar, storytelling sessions, culinary offerings, interactive family zones, stargazing events, Garangao festivities, and curated weekly themes.

Culinary heritage takes centre stage with the return of the Throwback Food Festival at Old Doha Port, now in its third edition. Running throughout Ramadan, the festival revisits flavours and aesthetics from the 1970s through the 1990s, evoking nostalgia while introducing contemporary audiences to retro-inspired dining concepts. The event is supported by a broad network of partners, including Qatar Airways, Snoonu, and Katara Hospitality, reflecting strong cross-sector collaboration within Qatar’s hospitality and lifestyle ecosystem.

Ramadan evenings are further enriched at Msheireb Downtown Doha, where Barahat Ramadan Nights and Layali Msheireb offer distinctive iftar and suhoor experiences. The precinct’s fusion of modern architecture with traditional ambience provides an atmospheric backdrop for cultural programming and social gatherings.

Religious and intellectual engagement remain integral to the month’s observances. The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs will host the Noor Ramadan Lectures at Katara Cultural Village, delivering a series of faith-centred discussions. Meanwhile, Darb Al Saai’s Al Razji Event celebrates Qatari traditions through crafts, attire, and folkloric performances.

Garangao Night, a cherished mid-Ramadan tradition, will be observed across prominent destinations, including Souq Waqif, The Pearl Island, Gewan Island, and Old Doha Port. Visitors can also experience Ramadan at Old Doha Port, featuring Musaher Al Mina, the Iftar Cannon, and Farewell to Ramadan activities. Retail and marketplace experiences form another pillar of the calendar. Key events include Hayyi Ramadan at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, The Pearl Ramadan Bazaar, Lagoona Mall Ramadan Nights, and the Museum of Islamic Art Bazaar at the Museum of Islamic Art park. In parallel, the Ramadan Shopping Fair at Al Wakrah Old Souq offers a heritage-inspired waterfront setting for seasonal shopping.

Sporting competitions continue throughout the Holy Month, underscoring Qatar’s year-round athletics calendar. Highlights include the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2026, alongside squash, equestrian, basketball, motorsport, beach volleyball, football, and padel tournaments staged at various venues, notably the Lusail International Circuit. Cultural institutions will also sustain their exhibition schedules.

The National Museum of Qatar, the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, and the Fire Station will present diverse showcases spanning art, history, and contemporary creativity.

Framing the season is Visit Qatar’s Ramadan campaign, themed, “Qatar, Your Home in Ramadan,” promoting values of hospitality, generosity, and togetherness. The campaign aims to deepen community connection while welcoming regional and international audiences to experience Ramadan in Qatar.
