The flag of Birla Pubic School was held high on January 11 and 12 at Mumbai when the three students, who took part in the INFINITY 2019, scored gold and silver in most of the challenges encountered by them.
INFINITY is an annual prestigious International Mathematics Competition organised by Aditya Birla World Academy in association with BITS Pilani. The competition is designed and open for students studying in Grade 11 or 12 in a school affiliated to any Board of Education.
High school students from schools across India and outside partake year after year in this exciting and enriching experience since 2014.In this competition students from 38 schools of different countries took part.
As a team, Sai Prajwal of XII A, Aniket Panda of XII H and Hrisheekesh R of XII E won the much cherished trophy for Poster making, “Bulb your Ideas”. In the Individual round, ‘Math Challengers’, out of 93 participants both, Aniket Panda and Hrisheekesh R, won the gold medal and Sai Prajwal won the silver medal.
In the MATHS QUIZZITCH, they faced a tough battle and gained a very close third position. They were awarded with certificates, medals and winner’s trophy by distinguished Mathematicians like Dr. James Tanton and Dr. Souvik Bhattacharyya. They were guided by Head of the department,senior math teachers and accompanied by Shiju Mathew for the tournament.
