Describing the significance of the occasion, he noted, “Qatar’s National Day is a meaningful occasion to celebrate the nation’s identity and the spirit of unity that brings its people together,” adding that it “invites all those living in the country to share in Qatar’s success and vision for the future.” The Ambassador said this unity is “particularly appreciated by the French community in Qatar,” noting that “more than 6,000 French citizens have made Qatar their home,” and expressing gratitude “to the Qatari authorities for their hospitality and for the excellent relations between our two countries.”Ambassador Pescheux highlighted Qatar’s growing international role, stating, “The country has become a key player in dialogue and mediation, and Doha is now recognised as a global capital of international diplomacy.” He added that Qatar “has spared no effort in addressing major crises, whether in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Sudan, and foremost in Gaza.” He also pointed to Qatar’s role as a hub for global dialogue, saying, “This year’s Doha Forum once again brought together leaders and thinkers from around the world to explore solutions to major global issues and conflicts,” and noting that “for the first time in thirty years, the World Summit for Social Development took place in Doha.”
