Baghdad: The Iraqi government announced today, December 16, 2022, the cancellation of entry visa fees for attending the Arab Gulf Cup football tournament, Gulf 25, scheduled to take place in Basra governorate southern Iraq on January 6, 2023.
The Chairman of the Gulf 25 Media Committee, member of the Iraqi Football Federation, Ahmad Al Mousawi, indicated in a statement that, the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, issued a decision to cancel the entry visa fees to Iraq for anyone wishing to attend the Gulf 25.
The Iraqi Football Association applauded the decision which would contribute to facilitating access to the public from all nationalities to enter Iraq to attend the tournament's matches.
The Gulf 25 tournament will kick off on January 6 with eight Gulf teams.
The tournament will be held at the Basra International Stadium and the International Port, with the opening match between the Iraqi and Omani national teams.
The Qatari team will play in the second group which includes Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. The first group will include Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Yemen.
