Doha, Qatar: The National Traffic Safety Committee, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic and several member entities and partners on the Committee, organized an event marking the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, held under the theme “Remember – Support – Act,” which falls on the third Sunday of November each year.

The opening was attended by Director General of Traffic and Second Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee; Brigadier Jabor Ali Al Kubaisi, Secretary and Member of the Committee, Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Radi Al-Hajri, and Director of the Non-Communicable Disease Prevention Programs Department at the Ministry of Public Health, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, along with a number of officers, representatives of concerned entities, and students from military colleges and schools in the country.

The event aims to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in road traffic crashes, support the injured and their families, and raise awareness of the importance of adhering to traffic safety rules, recognizing the collective efforts made to protect road users and reduce crashes and injuries.

The program also includes a two-day accompanying exhibition featuring the participation of various traffic safety stakeholders, showcasing their awareness initiatives, field programs, and efforts that contribute to enhancing road safety and reducing traffic injuries through education, awareness, and safe road-use practices.
