Doha, Qatar: The 2025 Arabian Gulf Padel Championships Qatar 2025 kicked off at the Padel-In courts in Aspire Zone on Monday.
Teams from all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are competing in the event that will conclude on September 19.
The championship features three main categories - men’s, women’s, and juniors - reflecting the sport’s growing popularity in the region.
Each category is being played in a league format, with every team competing in three matches. A team must win two matches to secure the victory.
Qatar’s men’s team include eight players: Mohammed Saadoun Al Kuwari, Khaled Saadoun Al Kuwari, Mohammed Al Khenji, Hassan Wali, Rashid Nawaf, Meshari Nawaf, Rayan Al Jafari, and Ali Al Saadi. The team recently completed an intensive training camp in Spain under the guidance of Argentine coach Pablo Sisti, focusing on physical and technical readiness through strong friendly matches.
The women’s team also includes eight players: Hanan Al-Abdulrahman, Maha Farmarzi, Salma Wali, Rawda Al-Abdullah, Maryam Al-Sulaiti, Hessa Al-Mutawa, Atlal Al-Abdulrahman, and Dana Al-Mudhahka.
