Doha, Qatar: Birla Public School, Doha celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India yesterday at the school campus. The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the Indian National Flag by Director C V Rappai, along with Management Representatives Chindhu Rappai, Nevile Lukose, and Siddharth Shahani, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.
Head Mistress Lissy Mathew welcomed the gathering, which was attended by Vice-Principal, Radhika Rele, Life Member K M Varghese, Academic and Non-Academic Members, parents and students of the school. Addressing the gathering, Director C V Rappai, on behalf of the Board of Directors, conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the Indian community on the occasion of Independence Day.
He reflected on the sacrifices and struggles of the freedom fighters who made India’s independence possible and highlighted the remarkable journey of the nation over the past eight decades.
Head Mistress proposed the formal vote of thanks.
