Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change announced that during the upcoming period it would intensify surveillance on radioactive materials and the devices utilized in all peaceful fields of nuclear energy in medicine, agriculture, research and others, in addition to promoting the field of nuclear energy.
The ministry, represented by the Radiation and Chemical Protection Department, conducted a training programme for a broad range of staff members who have been recruited recently within its concerted efforts dedicated to enhancing surveillance on the radiological activities in the State of Qatar, including the issuance of the essential clearances after carrying out inspection, vetting and investigation in accordance with Law No. 31 of 2002 on radiation protection.
