At Pearl School, the tricolour was hoisted by Sam Mathew, President of the Board of Directors, and the function was graced by the school’s Directors Cyril, N V Kader and many eminent members of the Indian Community in Doha including parents. The students of the school along with the teaching and non-teaching staff sang the National Anthem. After the flag hoisting Sam Mathew addressed the gathering and reiterated the key messages from the speeches of India’s President and Prime Minister on Independence Day. He further reminded the gathering on the value and importance of Education in strengthening the Economy of India and eliminating Poverty. He paid tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for independence.
