DOHA: An outdoor signboard was caught fire and shoppers were evacuated for a short while at Dar Al Salam mall in Abu Hamour.
According to reports an “isolator” connected to an advertisement apparently short-circuited and caught fire around 10am.
Speaking to Doha News, an online news portal, the mall manager said that the fire occurred near a signboard outside of the entrance. A security guard quickly extinguished it, but the wind carried the smoke to the detector, causing a fire alarm to go off.
No injuries were reported and shoppers were allowed back inside around 11.30am after thorough check by the police.
