Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health officially opened a Maternal Support Room at its main headquarters for female employees, reinforcing its commitment to promoting maternal and child health and fostering a supportive workplace environment for women.
In a statement by the Ministry, the room was inaugurated during an event titled “Supporting Motherhood in the Workplace” held in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Public Health, Hamad Medical Corporation, and the Primary Health Care Corporation.
The event included an introduction to the Maternal Support Room, along with awareness lectures on Qatar Dietary Guidelines for mothers and children (0-5 years), as well as the importance of breastfeeding and its role in supporting both maternal and child health.
This initiative reflects the vital role that workplace environments can play in supporting maternal and child health and empowering mothers to balance their professional responsibilities with their role as mothers by providing a private and comfortable space that encourages breastfeeding.
The opening of the Maternal Support Room marks another step toward strengthening mother-friendly workplace policies and reflects the Ministry’s commitment to providing a work environment where employees feel valued, cared for, and continuously supported.
