Doha: Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem issued a decision forming Qatari Haj mission for Hijri year 1444 (2023 CE).
According to the decision, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs will head the mission, and the decision stipulates the appointment of Ali Sultan Al Musaifri as Vice-President, and it also decided to appoint members representing the relevant state ministries, namely: the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, in addition to forming an advisory committee and supporting administrative units to serve the pilgrims of the State of Qatar.
Other than the president and vice-president, the mission includes the advisory committee, legal expert, sharia unit, medical unit, oversight and inspection unit, public relations unit, secretarial unit, information systems unit, coordination and follow-up unit and airport, financial unit, communication and support unit, logistics services unit.
The mission is also accompanied by a media team representing the state’s media institutions, including representatives of Qatar News Agency, Qatar TV, Al Rayyan TV, and Qatar Radio.
