Doha: A government two-day forum for combating trafficking in persons in the Middle East will begin today under the title 'Combating Trafficking in Persons in Tourist Seasons, a Focus on Sports Events', under the auspices of Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri.
The conference, organised by the Ministry of Labour represented by the National Committee for Combatting Human Trafficking, in coordination with the Permanent General Secretariat of the Governmental Forum to Combat Trafficking in Persons in the Middle East, will discuss the difficulties, advancements, and recent progress in combating human trafficking within Middle Eastern nations.
Participants will exchange knowledge and successful approaches while exploring methods to strengthen and enhance the skills of individuals working in the field of combating human trafficking.
The forum will see participation from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt, the US, the UK and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
