The World Stadium Congress will be hosted in Qatar from May 21 to 24 with the support of Qatar Tourism Authority, ASTAD Project Management and Qatar Green Building Council. The 8th edition of the World Stadium Congress, sponsored by Vodafone Qatar, serves as the annual congregation of stakeholders working on stadium projects in Qatar as well as globally.
Organised with the support of Qatar Tourism Authority, ASTAD Project Management, Qatar Green Building Council, The Asian Football Confederation and the European Stadium & Safety Management Association, the key focus this year will be on the delivery of stadia and infrastructure and the legacy impact they have on the urban landscape.
“From Russia and Qatar gearing up to deliver the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia and the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar respectively, to China’s surge in sport infrastructure investments, and the bidding to open soon for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, design and construction of the most modern stadiums and delivery of successful and secure tournaments of the future is of utmost importance,” said Marco Cipolat, Conference Director, IQPC Middle East.
“This year’s congress will touch on all these key focuses and best practices as we have an impressive list of global speakers from over 20 countries including ASTAD Project Management (Qatar), AT&T Stadium (USA), La Liga (Spain), Amsterdam ArenA International (Netherlands), AECOM (China) to name a few.”
Year-on-year, this event has hosted stakeholders working on stadium projects and tournaments across the globe to discuss the upcoming stadium projects, what it takes to deliver a successful tournament as well as review the technology and material requirements for these projects.
The event will also feature the annual World Stadium Congress Awards which recognises key projects and innovators in the industry, a Safety & Security Workshop Day led by the European Stadium and Safety Management Association (ESSMA), as well as the Welcome to Qatar Day sponsored by Qatar Tourism Authority.
There will also be an exhibition of companies that provide solutions and services for the delivery of venues and tournaments. Vodafone Qatar partnering with the event as a Title Sponsor, will also be joined by over 25 exhibiting companies including Al Ta'adhod (Gree Qatar & Eastern Synergy), Comba Telecom, Eaton, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, GigaTera, Space Hellas, LG Electronics to name a few.
