QNA

Baghdad: A drone attempting to target a logistics center near Baghdad Airport was shot down, an Iraqi security source said Monday.

Meanwhile, the Majnoon oil field in Basra Governorate was targeted Monday by two drones, with no casualties reported, according to Iraqi authorities.

Authorities stated that one of the drones targeted the field's communications tower, while the second drone targeted the office of the American company KBR (specializing in engineering and technology).

They indicated that the field is currently devoid of foreign workers, who left with the onset of the military escalation in the region, and that only Iraqi workers remain.

Additionally, Balad Air Base in Salah Al Din Governorate, northern Iraq, was targeted by an explosive-laden drone, which failed to detonate upon impact. An Iraqi security source said that security forces have begun investigating the crash site and securing the area, establishing a security cordon around the incident.

He added that investigations are underway to determine the drone's flight path and the party responsible for launching it, while also assessing any potential impact on Al Qaeda operations.
