Doha, Qatar: Under the patronage of Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem, and in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry H E Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center celebrated the conclusion of a one-month academic course in Arabic language for non-native speakers.
The course was organised for students delegated from the College of Islamic Studies of Darul Ifta in South Africa and benefited 15 students. The closing ceremony was also attended by Ambassador of South Africa to Qatar H E Ghulam Hussein Asmal.
Sultan bin Saad Al Badr, Assistant Director of the Center, expressed his great happiness at the successful completion of the course. He extended his sincere thanks to the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Undersecretary of the Ministry for their continuous support, close follow-up of the programme, and for providing all the necessary facilities to ensure its success.
The ceremony included a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by student Qari Hassan, followed by a speech delivered by Sultan Al Badr. A short film was then screened, highlighting the academic programme and the accompanying cultural tours, during which the students shared their impressions and experiences.
This was followed by a speech delivered by the students’ representative, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by H E Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem and H E Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani.
The students praised the facilities provided and the integrated academic approach of the course, which enabled them to significantly improve their speaking, communication, reading, and writing skills in Arabic.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates and the taking of commemorative photographs, as the students expressed their deep appreciation for the teachers and the efforts they exerted throughout the course.
