Doha: The Ministry of Culture (MoC) recently organised Al Baraha activities at the Heritage Park in Al Khor.
The activities included artistic and cultural events combining entertainment and education in an interactive social environment, with participation from various departments and centres affiliated with the Ministry.
The MoC’s Theatre Affairs Centre participated with puppet theatre and offered several workshops for children, while the Noemas Centre provided training for children in Qatari customs and heritage.
On this occasion, Mona Al Mujalli, the event coordinator, stated that Al Baraha is one of the events that enhances community partnership, and it is organised to reach everyone, adding that the Ministry of Culture is keen to hold it in parks near residential areas, culturally utilising them to revive the concept of Al Baraha and activate communication among community members, which represents a return to one of Qatar’s deep-rooted customs and traditions, in addition to discovering and nurturing various talents, especially children’s literary, artistic, and cultural talents through workshops and scientific and artistic activities, providing the appropriate heritage atmosphere.
The activities also included a variety of events reflecting Qatari heritage, traditional dishes, and Qatari traditional foods, as well as theatrical performances inspired by heritage.
