Trap Concaverde Lonato and QSAA join hands

Doha:  Qatar Shooting and Archery Association (QSAA) and Trap Concaverde shooting range in Lonato, Italy have joined hands to promote and improve the sport, share resources and expertise, develop knowledge, understanding and expansion of initiatives.
“It is a big step for us to enter into a partnership with the Italian range. It is big and famous range, one reason is its location. It is situated close to all the major gun and ammunition manufacturers in Northern Italy and boasts of 12 Trench layouts,” said QSAA President Ali Mohammed Al Kuwari.
“Every year you will find a World Championship or a World Cup, besides local competition. Every week they have a competition, local competition have more crowd then the international events,” he said Holding national team camps at Trap Concaverde in Lonato is certainly on the cards,” he added.
“QSAA and Trap Concaverde will be sitting with the visiting official of the range, Ivano and drawing out a comprehensive plan,” Al Kuwari added.
“The Italian shooters have been training here ahead ot he Qatar Shotgun Championship and in the future also they will train here at Losail Shooting Range,” the QSAA official said.
Trap Concaverde official Ivano, visiting Qatar for the first time, was very much impressed with the facilities on offer at the Losail Shooting range.
“Great range, beautiful, fantastic and hospitality for the shooters has been excellent,” he said “There are many benefits for our club on account of the tie up. Our shooters can train at the beautiful range in Qatar and witness the fantastic hospitality. On the other hand, Qatari shooters can practice at the Trap Concaverde in Lonato, another range, a beautiful range, for shooting practice.” “This is the start a project, the first step to a long lasting cooperation between our club and Qatar Shooting and Archery Association,” he added.
“For those not familiar with the range it is regarded as one of the best in the world and known as the ‘University of shotgun’, said Antonella, Competition Director of the ongoing Qatar Open Shotgun championship.
“So, most of the top shotgun shooters go there to practice there. It was started in the early 1900’s and it a place where some of the most successful World Cup and World Championships have taken place. So, it is something which is very important and incredible place which everybody knows and what to experience especially if you are shotgun shooter,” she said.
