‘Arbitration of Engineering Disputes’ event launch today

Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of Qatar Chamber will be launching today the “Arbitration of Engineering Disputes” programme, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education at the University of Qatar. 

The five-day event includes 30 training hours, aiming to introduce the engineering contracts related to construction and urbanisation, introduce main features of the tender law and its implementations, and review the legislative framework of construction contracts in the Qatari law and the most practical problems.

The programme includes lawyers, legal advisers, legal and administrative leaders in public and private sector companies, legal departments in ministries and government institutions, banks and financial institutions, heads and members of boards and directors of companies, business owners, contractors, commercial agents, arbitrators and experts in the field of commercial disputes, engineers and accountants, training and law students.

The programme contains elements of the fundamentals of commercial arbitration, as well as a definition of engineering contracts, tenders, FIDIC contracts, and the requirement for settling of engineering disputes in Qatari law, subcontracting and its relationship to the original contract.
