Baghdad: The Islamic State jihadist group claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing that killed at least 27 people in a Shiite-majority area of Baghdad on Saturday.

IS said in an online statement that a bomber wearing an explosive vest carried out the attack in the Shaab area of the Iraqi capital, which also wounded at least 36 people, according to security and medical officials.
