Doha, Qatar: Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan HE Jeyhun Bayramov described the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar as a brutal assault and a serious threat that will exacerbate the situation in the Gaza Strip and deepen the humanitarian tragedy there.
In his speech at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha Monday, His Excellency affirmed his country's full support for the State of Qatar in confronting the aggression, praising Doha's mediation efforts to end the aggression on Gaza and reach a peaceful settlement to the crisis.
His Excellency also called for respect for the UN Charter and called for an end to the war in Gaza through dialogue and the adoption of necessary measures to avoid undermining security in the region.
He said that all concerned parties must make efforts to reach an immediate ceasefire, promote dialogue, and de-escalate the situation.
He stressed the need to seek a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue based on a two-state solution, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions, calling for respect for the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.
