DOHA: The Ambassador of Turkiye to Qatar H E Dr. Mustafa Göksu (pictured) has affirmed that the visit of Turkish Foreign Minister H E Hakan Fidan to Doha comes within the framework of coordinating political positions between the two countries and exploring ways to end the famine in the Gaza Strip through intensified diplomatic and humanitarian efforts to ensure the urgent and unhindered delivery of aid.
In press statement on the occasion of Turkish Foreign Minister’s visit to Doha, Ambassador Göksu said that the discussions between the Turkish Foreign Minister and Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and earlier with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, addressed key regional and international developments, particularly the latest situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the Syrian file and conditions in the wider region.
The Turkish Ambassador stressed that the visit reflects the shared political will between the two countries to play an active role in resolving regional issues and demonstrates the commitment of both leaderships to enhancing joint efforts for security and stability in the region, supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people, alleviating the famine in Gaza, and achieving the two-state solution as a strategic option for peace.
Dr. Göksu expressed his country’s appreciation for Qatar’s active mediation role since the outbreak of the crisis, whether through humanitarian aid or efforts to bring peace to the occupied territories.
The Ambassador reaffirmed Turkiye’s condemnation of the genocide being committed against the residents of the Gaza Strip, stating that Turkiye holds the occupying authorities fully responsible for the crimes committed, and emphasising the urgent need for the international community to act to stop these violations and ensure accountability for the perpetrators.
