Doha: The Board of Directors of the Qatar University Alumni Association held a meeting to form a new board to manage the association.
This was attended by Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham, President of Qatar University, and a number of members of the Association, who currently occupy many positions in ministries and institutions. This meeting witnessed a tribute to the members of the Association whose term of office has expired, in appreciation of their efforts during their period of work in the Association. Dr. Al Derham honoured the former members of the Association, who are: Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, former Chairman of the Board of Directors; Abdullah Hamid Al Mulla, Secretary; Dr. Sultan bin Hassan Al Dosari, Chairman of the Professional Committee; Jassim Al Nama, Hassan Al Saei, and Hassan Al Baker.
The formation of a new board of directors was announced, as follows: H E Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Minister of Environment and Climate Change as Chairman of the Association; Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari as Vice-Chairman, and Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari as Secretary. Sabah Al Haidos was appointed as the head of the professional committee, Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari as the head of the finance committee, Aisha Al Mudahka as the head of the marketing committee and Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari as the head of the branches committee.
The mission of the Qatar University Alumni Association is to be a pioneer in the region in the field of alumni relations, and to enable the university’s graduates to establish sustainable relations with their university. It is also working to revive the interaction between alumni and their university through various programmes and events offered by the various branches of the Association.
The branches of the Alumni Association aim to bring together people with specialisations or common interests in order to enrich their personal experiences and provide mutual support between them and the university in various aspects and fields.
