Toronto: Russia's Daniil Medvedev qualified for the final of the Canadian Tennis Championships in Toronto (ATP Masters 1000), with a score of 1,000, after defeating American John Isner in two sets.
In the semi-finals, Medvedev took an easy victory over Isner (6-2 and 6-2), in a match that lasted only 54 minutes.
The Russian player will face American Riley Opelka in the final, who eliminated Greek third seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, in two sets to one (6-7, 7-6, 6-4) in the match that lasted two and a half hours.
Medvedev, who lost the final in the 2019 Toronto Championships to Rafael Nadal, is looking to achieve his third title this season after Marseille and Mallorca. (QNA)
