The Rainfall Emergency Committee of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment which is in charge of handling rainfall emergencies and risks discussed in its first meeting the necessary preparations and the development of new plans for coordination between the municipalities and the concerned authorities in the country to ensure the proper functioning of the work and withdraw water as soon as possible.
The meeting also discussed the formation of a working team to study the sites and coordinate with the Public Works Authority and the security authorities to identify the water points and develop solutions for them, as well as equip the work teams in all municipalities of workers, machinery, equipment and suction machines.
Minister of Municipality and Environment H E Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi has recently issued a ministerial order to form the joint committee for handling the emergencies and risks of rainfall, chaired by Safar Mubarak Al Shafi, Director of the Ministry’s public Sanitation Department.
The decision stipulated that the committee shall have a mechanism to meet the emergency of rainfall and the resulting risks, prepare strategic plans for this situation, and coordinate and cooperate with the concerned authorities in the country.
