Jeddah Security and Development Summit seeks to adopt common understanding to face challenges: GCC Secretary-General

JEDDAH: Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf underlined the importance of the Jeddah Security and Development Summit, which starts Saturday in Jeddah.

The Summit will be attended by the leaders of the GCC states, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Iraq, and the United States of America.

GCC Secretary-General said that the summit represents a regional and international platform for addressing security files, challenges, and areas of development and aspirations. 

Moreover, it enhances the integrating efforts towards achieving stability and prosperity in the region and the world, especially in light of the accelerating challenges, he pointed out.

He stressed the GCC's belief in its constructive and pivotal role as a basic pillar of security and stability in the region, a leading model for comprehensive development, an engine for the economy, and a partner towards the future by strengthening its regional and international position and presence.

Al Hajraf expressed aspiration that the Jeddah Security and Development Summit would represent the launch of a new phase based on a mutual understanding of dealing with security and stability challenges and collective work to cooperate in the areas of development and prosperity to achieve common goals and build the future.
