Doha: In a ceremony at its headquarters, Barwa Bank donated QR100,000 to Qatar Charity and Eid Charity Foundation on the heels of the bank’ fifth annual football tournament.
Under the theme ‘Play for Good’, this year’s tournament was held at Al Wakra Sports Club. Registration fees were tripled to boost donations to both charities and the bank’s humanitarian efforts in Qatar.
Donation cheques were handed by Khalid Yousef Al Subeai, Acting Group CEO, Talal Ahmed Al Khaja, Chief Communications Officer, and Mohammed Matar, Head of Retail Credit, to Khalid Ahmad Fakhro, Top Donors Relations Officer, QC, and Yousef Al Jassem, Head, Local Marketing Department, Eid Charity Foundation.
Al Subeai said: “The bank is committed to social, human and athletic activities in Qatar, particularly during Ramadan. The donations stem from the bank’s efforts to strengthen social responsibility programmes through its yearly and regular financial commitments to select charities.”The Peninsula
