Hyatt Plaza lines up Ramadan activities

Doha: Hyatt Plaza has announced plans for Ramadan, with 20 days of entertainment, education and spirituality. 
Fuad Shaqadan, Leasing and Marketing Manager, told a press conference that activities include the sixth edition of Fast-a-thon, Malaysian Bazaar, and children’s programmes, including Garangoan, among others.
‘We believe that Ramadan is the best period to give back to the community and engage people in social initiatives,” he said.
The mall plans Layaly Alkhair festival in collaboration with Edad Educational Centre. It is an educational and entertaining event featuring Nasheeds, storytelling and a cultural competitions with the participation of Dr Abdulrahman Al Harami, Aqeel Al Janahi, Ahmed Al Muftah and Esmaa Wesati Group. 
Fast-a-thon is a charity event to offer an opportunity to non-Muslims to experience fasting for one day and the mall and Qatar Charity will donate QR200 on their behalf to encourage education in Somalia. The mall will also hold Iftar parties for all participants to give non-Muslims an understanding of the Ramadan spirit, on June 26 and 27.
Abdulrahman Al Harami, Educational Consultant, Edad Educational Centre, said:  “Developing young minds through quality entertainment is the main pillar of our Ramadan activities to reflect Qatar’s Islamic values and give children right orientation to become productive.
