Doha, Qatar: As part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA), an awareness event was held for people with diabetes travelling to perform Hajj rituals.
A dental team at the PHCC’s Oral Health Promotion and Prevention participated in the event held under the slogan: “Safe Hajj with Diabetes.”
Manager of Oral Health Promotion and Prevention at PHCC, Dr. Najat Alyafei said that the event aimed to highlight the importance of oral and dental health care as an essential component of overall prevention, particularly for people with diabetes.
Practical guidance was provided on proper tooth cleaning, prevention of infections, and managing emergency cases during the Hajj period.
The importance of undergoing a dental check-up prior to travel to avoid any health complications was also emphasized, in addition to offering consultations and direct examinations through the mobile clinic. This participation comes as part of joint efforts to promote comprehensive health and empower patients to perform their rituals safely.
Dr. Alyafei concluded by stressing the importance of adhering to health guidelines and wished all pilgrims an accepted Hajj, appreciated efforts, forgiven sins, and a safe return home.
