Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) H E Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi praised diplomatic efforts by the State of Qatar and its great role in achieving a ceasefire between the Israeli and Palestinian sides.
“The Qatari diplomacy was able to deal with many international and regional issues, seeking to resolve them through peaceful means,” the GCC Secretary-General said.
He reiterated the position of the GCC countries, which calls for the need to speed up a just and lasting solution to the conflict, based on the principles of international law and the Arab Peace Initiative, and on the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Al Quds as its capital.
