Khalifa retains T4 lead as Nasser finishes in third spot

Qatari driver Khalifa Al Attiyah and his co-driver Xavier Penseri on their way to win the second stage of the T4 Class of the Andalucia Rally yesterday in their CAN-AM Maverick XRS.

The brother of the multiple-time Dakar Rally winner Nasser, Khalifa completed the 493km-long loop in 03:38:05 to maintain his overall lead.

Meanwhile, Nasser and his French navigator Matthieu Baumel in their Toyota Hilux Overdrive, finished third in yesterday's second stage.

The double FIA World Rally Champion Carlos Sainz and his co-driver Lucas Cruz won the stage in 03:16:24 as the Spaniard clinched his first stage win in the 4x4 class in the home rally since 2011.  

Saudi Arabia's Yazeed Al Rajhi and his co-driver Dirk Von Zitzewitz came second at +1’08’’. The third and penultimate stage of the Andalucía Rally will be held today over 447 kilometers, starting in the Sevillian town of El Arahal.
