Qatar Olympic Committee President H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani (left) leads Brametot, ridden by Cristian Demuro (right), after the win in the French Guineas for three-year-old colts in Deauville, France, on Sunday. Al Shaqab Racing’s Brametot won the Abu Dhabi Poule d’Essai des Poulains (Group 1). The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained colt, who had won the Prix de Fontainebleau (Group 3) recently, imposed himself in front of Le Brivido, after a wonderful battle in the French Guineas for three-year-old colts. Both horses were ridden at the back of the field and came on one side of the track. Andre Fabre’s charge, Le Brivido, who was ridden by Pierre-Charles Boudot finished second, while Frankie Dettori-ridden Rivet, trained by William Haggas, was third. H E Sheikh Joaan received the trophy.
