Washington - The United States on Friday warned Burundi President Pierre Nkurunziza against running for a third term in office, saying it would "exacerbate" the country's instability.
Washington was also deeply concerned about reports of "retaliatory violence" after the coupe leaders were arrested or forced to go on the run from loyalist troops, a State Department spokesman, Jeff Rathke, said.
