Filipina gets a year in jail for forging marriage certificate

DOHA: A criminal court has sentenced a Filipina to a year in jail for forging a marriage certificate to show that her boyfriend was her husband. The court has said in its verdict that the woman be deported after serving the jail sentence. 
The woman told the police during questioning that she was married for four years and had forged a marriage certificate to show that she was married to her boyfriend.
She was caught because the seals of the Qatari embassy in Manila and Qatar’s foreign ministry on the forged marriage certificate were also forged. She told investigators that she had paid 6,000 pesos or QR600 to obtain the forged certificate, a local Arabic daily reported yesterday. The Peninsula
