Malaysia’s Education Minister arrives

Doha: Malaysian Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid and his delegation yesterday arrived on a two-day visit to Qatar. He and his delegation were welcomed by Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Muhammad bin Abdulwahid Al Hamadi and senior official of the ministry at the airport.

Mercedes-Benz S Class, S Coupe models recalled

Doha: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in collaboration with Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles, dealer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has announced the recall of Mercedes-Benz S Class and S Coupe 2015 models to update the software for telematics services communications module control unit.
The ministry said the recall is part of its efforts to protect consumers and ensure dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.
It urged customers to report any violations to its Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department through hotline: 16001; email: info@mec.gov.qa; Twitter: @MEC_Qatar; Instagram: MEC_Qatar; and the ministry’s mobile app for Android and IOS: MEC_Qatar.

Ministry and Council sign deal

Doha: The Supreme Judiciary Council and the Government Contact Centre of the Ministry of Transport and Communication have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on communication services for the council.
The MoU, within the framework of the development of the council’s services, was signed by Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, Director, Administrative and Financial Affairs Department of the council, and Hassan Al Sayed, Assistant Undersecretary for Government IT Programmes at the ministry. 
The centre provides over 40 services to some 23 government agencies in Arabic and English, while work is underway to add other languages. 
It also links more than 90 government entities in the state.
