Doha: This week’s Drive-in Cinema will give you thrills as Doha Film Institute (DFI) will screen three horror movies from Thursday February 17 to 19.
Themed “Horror Series,” DFI said in a message: “We’ve got chills and thrills galore this weekend at our drive-in cinema with three spine-chilling features that will have you on the edge of your seats!”
All movies will be screened at 8PM and tickets are priced at QR100 which can be purchased at their website.
On February 17, it will screen “Insidious.” It is a terrifying story of a family who, shortly after moving, discovers that dark spirits have possessed their home and that their son has inexplicably fallen into a coma. Trying to escape the haunting and save their son, they move again only to realise that it was not their house that was haunted.
Meanwhile, on February 18, it will feature 2005’s “The Exorcism of Emily Rose.” It is a supernatural horror legal drama film directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Laura Linney and Tom Wilkinson. The Rev. Moore is prosecuted for the wrongful death of a girl thought to be demonically possessed, because he administered the church-sanctioned exorcism that ultimately killed her. Prosecuting attorney Ethan Thomas contends that the young woman, Emily, suffered from schizophrenia and should have been medically diagnosed. Meanwhile, defence lawyer Erin Bruner argues that Emily’s condition cannot be explained by science alone.
And on February 19, Saturday, it will screen “Signs,” a 2002 American science fiction mystery thriller film. Everything that farmer Graham Hess assumed about the world is changed when he discovers a message—an intricate pattern of circles and lines—carved into his crops. As he investigates the unfolding mystery, what he finds will forever alter the lives of his brother and children. A unique story that explores the mysterious real-life phenomena of crop signs and the effects they have on one man and his family.
