Doha, Qatar: The Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, during its regular meeting, reviewed the latest developments related to the third Web Summit Qatar, scheduled to be held from February 1 to 4 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, where it discussed the level of readiness to host the event amid rising participation demand.

The committee confirmed that startup programme tickets are fully sold out, with more than 1,600 startups from around the world participating, alongside expectations that general attendance tickets will sell out soon, with around 30,000 participants from 124 countries, nearly 700 investors, and 600 media representatives, in addition to the summit’s allocated space reaching full capacity, with the participation of several leading global companies.

Director of the Government Communications Office and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, H E Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, said that the sell-out of startup program tickets reflects the growing confidence in Web Summit Qatar as a global platform bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and decision-makers, providing an environment that fosters innovation and partnership building.

He added that the summit represents a strategic opportunity for Qatari and regional startups to showcase their ideas, build meaningful partnerships, and access a global network of investors and experts, helping transform innovative ideas into projects with sustainable economic impact.

Sheikh Jassim pointed to the remarkable growth in the number of participating Qatari startups, noting that the summit’s second edition recorded an increase exceeding 90 percent compared to the 2024 edition, highlighting that this growth reflects the success of national efforts in empowering entrepreneurs and enhancing their role in building a knowledge-based economy, in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The committee revealed the participation of government and commercial delegations from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Serbia, Bahrain, Pakistan, and Palestine, alongside ongoing discussions with other international delegations, reflecting the summit’s international nature and its standing as a global destination for governments, companies, and investors.

The committee also discussed the growing interest of leading global companies and institutions in participating in the summit, noting the signing of dozens of partnership agreements with prominent international organisations in the technology, media, finance, and investment sectors, including Google, Meta, Microsoft, IBM, TikTok, Snap, Cisco, and Huawei.

The committee addressed the scientific program of the summit, noting that the third edition will cover 14 main tracks, led by artificial intelligence, alongside quantum computing, financial technology, energy, government, health, and manufacturing, with a focus on achieving practical and sustainable value from these technologies.

The committee noted that hosting Web Summit in Qatar for the third consecutive year represents a strategic pillar to consolidate the country’s position as a global hub for technology and innovation. — QNA
