Kuwait: The State of Qatar participated in the 115th Ministerial Council meeting of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), which was held in the State of Kuwait.
The Qatari delegation was headed by Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi.
The meeting addressed a number of issues related to the Organization's work in addition to the 2026 draft budget and the ongoing project to develop its work, reorganize its activities, and launch a new identity.
In his opening remarks, Kuwaiti Oil Minister and current Chairman of the Ministerial Council, Tareq Al Roumi, said the meeting comes at a critical and sensitive time for the Organization's work, given the rapid transformations and major challenges facing the global energy sector.
He emphasized the need to continue unifying visions and enhancing coordination among member states to support stability in energy markets and strengthen the Organization's presence regionally and internationally.
For his part, OAPEC Secretary-General, Jamal Al Loughani, noted that the Secretariat has been working since the Council decided to implement a development project in coordination with the specialized committee under the supervision of the Executive Office, adding that their joint efforts have yielded results reflecting the Organization's commitment to achieving the desired transformation through continuous work and cooperation.
He added that these achievements place a responsibility on the Secretariat to continue its efforts and intensify work to advance the Organization's performance in line with the Council's aspirations, stressing that OAPEC is entering a new historic phase full of opportunities, ambitions, and challenges that require concerted efforts.
